Goldar Pledges Loyalty to Rita Repulsa

Ever thought of how, despite Rita Repulsa, continually losing to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Goldar never leaves the evil space alien? Well the story of how Goldar pledges loyalty to Rita Repulsa has been chronicled in Boom Studios’ Go Go Power Rangers # 8 by Ryan Parrott and Dan Mora.

So it turns out that Goldar (the dog looking character from Power Rangers with the golden armor) was a spy sent by Lord Zedd sent to spy on Rita Repulsa. At the time that Goldar pledges loyalty to Rita Repulsa, he was an insane warrior who is out to avenge whoever killed his brother.

Rita also confronts Goldar about being a spy for Lord Zedd and shows hi why he’s a weak leader. She also convinces him that she deserves his loyalty because she knows what she wants and how she’ll do it.

She was also keen on helping him get revenge for whoever killed his brother. Who I’d hazard a guess would be Zordon.

In the end though, Goldar’s betrayal didn’t mean anything because Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa ended up being together. Still, its a pretty cool moment in Power Rangers history to see Goldar becoming a loyal warrior for Rita.
