AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 800 Set to Bring Back Black Suit Spidey

Peter Parker will be celebrating his 800th issue not wearing his traditional blue and red costume but rather he reverts back to his black suit costume as he continues the fight against Norman Osborn aka Red Goblin.

Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski pointed out at the Chicago’s C2E2 convention’s retailer-only panel, that Spider-Man will once again wear his equally iconic Black Suit as he takes on Red Goblin in the story arc “Go Down Swinging”.

What’s also interesting is that when the relaunched Amazing Spider-Man # 1 is released which will be written by Nick Spencer with art by Ryan Ottley , we’ll continue seeing Spider-Man wearing his black suit.

Interestingly enough, the first promotional materials for Spencer and Ottley’s Spider-Man run features Spidey in his classic costume, so it doesn’t make complete sense why they change that.

Well possibly editorial didn’t want a leak to happen, so they stuck with the red and blue Spider-Man costume. Anyway, Amazing Spider-Man # 800 will be out May 2018 while the relaunched Spider-Man book will be hitting stores in July under the Fresh Start banner.
