Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez Cast as Live Action Carmen Sandiego

Netflix has announced that they are casting “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez as Carmen Sandiego for a live action movie.

Rodriguez had earlier been cast as the voice of Carmen Sandiego for a 20 episode animated season. But now the streaming company wants to push their projects further.

The actress will also be joined by Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard who will play Sandiego’s sidekick Player.

No writer has been officially attached to the series but we’ll have to wait and see how HMH Productions, the current holder of the license, develops the content which should be exclusively aired on Netflix.
