Manix Abrera Signs with Epic Studios for Adaptation of Works
Talented Filipino comic creator Manix Abrera was recently signed with Epic Studios and Viva Films for an unspecified film adaptation of one of his works.
There was a short press conference before the epic signing (no pun intended) which was attended by the Kikomachine artist as well as Viva’s big boss Vic Del Rosario and Epic’s Paul Basinillo.
Abrera has stated that he wants more of these adaptations, not just his worjs but works of other Pinoy creators as well.
When asked on whether or not this new project would have an impact on his future works, he sheepishly does not know for sure but he is sure that it has given him new materials to use.
More on Abrera
The dude’s a superstar in his own right, with 13 books/ compilation under his name, he’s one of the really big crowd-pullers every year at Komikon. He has also done things other creators aspire to do or be in such as starring in several TV commercials for other brands, become a constant speaker for at conventions and other public gatherings and just recently hold his very own solo exhibity at the Shangri-La.
The Future
For now though, it looks like life goes on for the premiere artist. He’s changed the pace of his work to make sure that he can do a lot of other stuff while still being able to meet his deadlines for Kikomachine and other titles.
I can tell you one thing for sure, from the short time we were chatting you can sense that he’s fulfilled and quite happy with where he is.
