Ron Cephas Jones Cast as the Wizard in DC’s Shazam Movie

Actor Ron Cephas Jones has been tapped to play the Wizard in DC’s upcoming film Shazam.

Jones has had a lot of acting experience under his belt. He’s one of those guys on TV and movies where we go “I’ve seen this guy before”. In this case, we’ve seen him in a few Law and Order episodes. He also showed up “The Blacklist”, “Banshee”, “The Get Down” and “This is Us”.

We also saw the actor in Marvel’s Luke Cage where he played Bobby Fish, one of Cage’s confidantes and allies in Harlem.

In “Shazam”, Cephas will play the role of the main wizard that gives Billy Batson (Asher Angel) his powers to become the world’s most powerful mortal, Shazam (Zachary Levi).

So while the dude was formerly a white guy seated at the Rock of Eternity, the New 52 version revises this and turns the wizard into an african-american old man.

Also, we pretty much have confirmation that Mark Strong is playing the movie’s villain, Dr. Sivana.
