Brian Michael Bendis to Write Superman For DC Comics
Bleedingcool.com has some meaty rumors concerning Brian Michael Bendis and his first work at DC Comics and it could involve the Man of Steel himself, Superman.
According to the rumor site, Bendis will be taking over sometime next year and will be having the creative team of Ivan Reis and Joe Prado to flesh out Superman’s new adventures with him handling the plot and scripts.
Reis and Prado are some of the biggest guns DC Comics had too, considering they did several high-profile projects like…
Blackest Night
Justice League
… and Aquaman
All of these titles though were done together with Geoff Johns.
So what’s the problem?
It seems that BC is implying that there’s some sort of faction war in the DC office with one side lead by Geoff Johns and the other side spearheaded by Dan Didio.
The thing is Johns scored big within the company after the success of DC Rebirth while Didio was held back a bit by how the New 52 turned out. But with new stuff coming out soon under Didio’s “New Age of Heroes” banner, things may get more trickier.
As for Bendis, he recently showed off his new eye-patch channeling SHIELD director Nick Fury. That’s because he recently faced a serious health issue.
