Jon Hamm Wants to be Batman
News is spreading that Jon Hamm is actively pursuing the Batman role for upcoming DC movie projects.
RadarOnline.com reports that Hamm wants to succeed Ben Affleck as the Batman especially after all the negative criticisms the actor got from his performance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and this year’s Justice League.
Jon’s gunning hard for the role
That’s according to an insider who spoke to RadarOnline. Hamm was even reportedly “carefully courting” The Batman director Matt Reeves for the role.
The trick here is that Reeves, who directed all three “Planet of the Apes” movies, already has his eyes set on getting “Nightcrawler” and “Prince of Persia” star Jake Gylenhaal as the new Batman to replace Affleck.
The unnamed souce also adds:
Matt thinks Jon is charming and was a big fan of Mad Men, so it seems like a great transition to him. Jake Gylenhaal has also been chasing the role, and Matt has definitely been considering him. But Jon is closer to Ben’s age and look, and will be a smoother replacement to fit into the plans already in place.
So lets see how this develops. It’s going to be 2018 in a few weeks and Reeves and Warner needs to make a decision for casting. Not to mention Affleck on whether or not he will be dropping the Dark Knight. In my opinion though, I’d love to see Jon Hamm in the role.
