Rian Johnson Teases Return of Classic Lightsaber

In a recent interview, Star Wars The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson teases the return of a classic lightsaber color.

In his interview with Parade Magazine, Johnson teased that this color has significance to the Star Wars mythos. Speculations have risen that this could have ties to the prequels or the Clone Wars.

Which could mean it could be anywhere between a Mace Windu lightsaber…

… To a more realistic one like Luke Skywalker’s classic green lightsaber which first appeared in Return of the Jedi.

Obviously he will never reveal the lightsaber in question and we can only speculate so much.

At this point in the story though, there are only two lightsabers in circulation namely Rey’s blue lightsaber (originally from Anakin Skywalker)…

… And Kylo Ren’s Sith inspired Red lightsaber…

So it would really seem like there’s something within the story that will make a lightsaber appear. Maybe there’s another lightsaber inside that Force Tree we’ve seen in the trailers.
