Vista Cinemas to Hold Special Thor: Ragnarok Screening on Oct. 21
The battle between Thor and Hulk kicks off on October 25, 2017 when “Thor: Ragnarok” opens in theaters nationwide, but several bloggers, celebrities, and some lucky followers of Vista Cinemas’ Facebook page can watch the superheroes in action as early as October 21 (5:00 PM) at the special screening happening at the Evia Lifestyle Center.
Moviegoers also get the chance to see the Asgardian god earlier than the movie’s nationwide release at the advance screenings open to the public on October 24, 7:00 PM onwards.
“Thor: Ragnarok” is helmed by the writer and director Taika Waititi, whose claim to fame includes the mockumentary horror comedy “Hunt for the Wilderpeople,” the coming-of-age film “Boy,” and the adventure comedy-drama film “What We Do in the Shadows.”
Two time-Oscar winner Cate Blanchett plays the villain Hela. Jeff Goldblum will play the Grandmaster, one of the oldest characters in the Marvel universe who just really likes a good game.
Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the Asgardian Avenger. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner and Tom Hiddleston will still play Loki. Idris Elba returns as Heimdall and Sir Anthony Hopkins will still play the exile god Odin.
Joining the cast is Tessa Thompson, playing the Valkyrie—who gathers warriors for the Grandmaster. Karl Urban will play Skurge, an Asgardian warrior who uses a double-bladed battle ax as a weapon.
Thor: Ragnarok Synopsis:
In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”
“Thor: Ragnarok” has a running time of two hours and 20 minutes. It has yet to be rated by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). This upcoming film by Marvel will be released in the Philippines by Press Play.
