What Was Batman’s Secret Sin – Batman # 32 Spoilers

While everybody was talking about the whole Catwoman/Batman marriage at the end of the Batman story arc “The War of Jokes and Riddles”, I’m more interested to see what sordid secret Batman has. So here we are, Batman # 32 spoilers from the issue written by Tom King with art by Mikel Janin.

So after last issue’s backstab moment, the three proponents of the War of Jokes and Riddles have begun fighting.

Apparently, Riddler had planned for everything to happen to prove a point to Joker. Nevermind that the Clown beat him few issues ago. He was determined to make a point.

Nigma’s whole goal all this time, from creating Kite Man, to the eventual showdown in the tower, was to see Joker laugh. Knowing Nygma, it was a huge challenge for him. He makes Joker laugh, at the point where he can’t do it by himself, IS an achievement. Means he can do anything, be anyone or in Kite Man’s case – make anyone.

The Riddler also claimed that if he wanted to see Batman dead, he could have. He could even have killed everybody related to him be it friends and allies. But he focused his attention on Joker.

At this point in time, Batman snaps. All these deaths from the people caught in the crossfire during Deathstroke vs Deadshot as well as other Gotham residents that found themselves in the territories of either Joker or Riddler, all for a sick joke. Even Kite Man’s kid died all for this scheme of Riddler’s.

In the end, its not Riddler who makes Joker laugh. It was Batman past his breaking point, fed up with all the death and violence the War of Jokes and Riddles have brought upon.

So for this Batman # 32 spoilers post, that’s it. That’s JUST it. Batman almost killed the Riddler after finding out that it was all a clever scheme. I guess I need to read everything from the start to the interlude to really get a good grasp of the story. Because a by-chapter/by-issue approach isn’t doing the trick for me.

At least the arc ends with something of a happy ending. Catwoman says “yes” to Batman’s marriage proposal.

If I would rate this Batman story arc, i’d give it around 8/10. The ending was meh.
