Marvel Teases Runaways Return with Redesigned Nico Minoru

Long time Runaways member Nico Minoru has undergone a lot of changes ever since she first appeared in Runaways # 1 and with the arrival of the Runaways TV series, Marvel has begun teasing some Runaways content starting with a revamped look for the team’s resident spellcaster.

While its not a direct tease for a new volume of Runaways, its definitely getting there. The team’s logo gets referenced in the word “run” and it goes prose in detailing all the things you need to know about Nico Minoru.

Still there’s no official creative team yet for the book and this could really be anything. I strongly believe that there’s a project AND that Kris Anka (Star-Lord, X-Men) is involved either as the book’s first artist or as the main designer for the team’s new look.

I dig the look they gave her though. At this point in time, she’s already matured and have seen different aspects of life and death as a character. Hell she was even part of that horrible Avengers Arena book that Hunger Game-d a bunch of teen Marvel heroes.

Even in her first appearance in Runaways Volume 1, she really did stand out.

I’m definitely picking up the new volume especially since I heard a juicy rumor that Joss Whedon could be involved with this project and you know how awesome Whedon’s run was with Astonishing X-Men right?
