Clea and Brother Voodoo Teases for Doctor Strange 2 and Other MCU Projects

We have only barely touched the rich mythos for Doctor Strange and if there’s any indication about further movies and projects, now would be a good time to hope that there would be a Doctor Strange 2 sometime after Avengers Infinity War. And now there are already talks in introducing Clea and Brother Voodoo for the sequel.

Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson was asked whether or not fans would return to the Dark Dimension when a sequel gets greenlit and rolled out to theaters and this was his response.

Clea was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko on November 1964 and first appeared in the pages of Strange Tales # 126. Get this, Clea is Dormammu’s niece with her mother Umar being Dormammu’s sister. And even bigger “whoa” moment is the fact that Clea eventually became the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension. Her and Stephen Strange shacking up definitely made some changes to the relationship between the Dark Dimension and Eath. Will this be the same thing explored in the MCU?

Brother Voodoo

Meanwhile, Derrickson also almost confirmed that if he continues to be the director for the next slew of Doctor Strange films, he plans on adding in Brother Voodoo aka Jericho Drumm. If you recall in the movie, Brother Voodoo’s brother Daniel Drumm was killed defending the New York Sanctum from Kaecilius.

Amongst the two, I’m betting that Voodoo/ Drumm would materialize faster. It’s already established that their family is into magic with his brother (and future tormentor) Daniel already falling at the the hands of Mads Mikkelsen’s character in the movie. So the seed has already been planted. We could even have Drumm assisting Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in a fight against Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, who turned rogue at the end of the first movie.

So yeah, Doctor Strange 2, while not even in the menu, is already panning out to be a good movie and a worthy successor to the first film.
