Man of Steel 2 is Definitely Happening
Barely a week after the release of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. Pictures announces that production is now underway for Man of Steel 2.
The Wrap broke the news that the movie project will once again soar high soon. This is the second official Superman solo movie from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures. Here on our site, we originally counted Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as the sequel but as time passed by, we realized that the superhero slugfest was an entirely different creature.
The first movie, directed by current Justice League director Zack Synder, did good in the box office but was ill-received by some fans over the tone and the controversial ending.
Man of Steel 2, obviously not the official title, will definitely just have Superman with a possible cameo from any of his Justice League compatriots.
In October 2014, WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced their slate of DC Comics films which was brought about by the massive hype train for BvS. A total of nine movies were sort of announced including The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, a solo Batman movie and a solo Cyborg movie. Plus Suicide Squad. So there’s really more room for the sequel.
Don’t forget this guy’s movie as well…
Henry Cavill will most likely return to play Superman (although the character is currently dead in the DC Expanded Universe). Plus the regulars like Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and more.
The last we really heard from the Man of Steel 2 project was when Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller’s name was attached to the project, which he quickly shot down.
