There’s an Issue with the Pricing of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the PH

Its been brought to our attention (my attention specifically) that there’s a bit of hubbub that came along with the release of the the new J.K. Rowling book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

So what could ruin this good release date for a book that millions of people are salivating to read up on especially here in the Philippines? How about the price of the book?

It was pointed out to me that the issue began with this statement from Scholastic Asia:

In a nutshell, National Book Store is selling the books for around Php 1500 while another local store, Fully Booked is selling the same book with a price of Php 999. Sure its only like 501 peso difference but when you factor in how much you stand to lose, it’ll definitely trigger you.

Still, the money-grabbing is strong in this one.

The comments section alone on this FB page post has split the demographic in half. Most of the voice of reason however comes from the people who are Pro-Fullybooked. You can read these comments HERE

We really hope this gets settled soon so that more people could gain access to the book which Rowling claims will be the last Harry Potter book she’ll ever write (although we kinda feel that she’ll be back at it again in  a few years). Also have to remind you that there’s an actual play for this book.
