Marvel Legends SDCC 2016 Goes Bad with The Raft
Marvel and Hasbro has been known to really kick the door open with their SDCC exclusive toys and for this year, they go bad with a set of figures from THE RAFT.
That’s right, this year’s themed boxset goes big and bad with a collection of some of the meanest villains in the Marvel Universe. Just look at the lineup below and tell me these aren’t menacing enough.
The Marvel Legends SDCC 2016 will feature four regular sized figures and two big figures, worthy of being considered as BAF (Build a Figures) in regular lines.
And if you’re not familiar with these characters (shame on you) here’s a rundown together with links to their respective Wiki entries.
Spider-Man – Spidey’s not a villain but we got to have a hero on this boxset right?
Enchantress – Amora’s been a thorn in Thor’s side for a number of years. She was also instrumental in the destruction of Asgard during the ‘Ragnarok’ storyline during Avengers Disassembled. Loved her appearance in Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes where she fought the team both as a team member and as half of a duo together with Skurge.
Sandman – Sandman’s been an Avenger AND an in-and-out member of the Sinister Six. He hasn’t been seen since Secret Wars but I’m betting he’ll eventually make an appearance in the Spider-Man books.
Abomination – Blonsky’s dead in the current 616, he’s been dead for some time now. Know who killed him? None other than the Red Hulk aka Thunderbolt Ross.
Purple Man aka Zebediah Killgrave – Purple Man’s here because, I don’t know. This is the first time we see the ‘Jessica Jones’ baddie in licensed plastic and he sure looks creepy enough to be in The Raft. Would be cool too if we could recreate that scene in New Avengers where Luke Cage punches the living daylights out of Killgrave during the ‘Breakout’ arc.
Dreadknight – ummmm… I don’t exactly know why this guy is here. Probably had a really good agent at Marvel and Hasbro working him a good angle. Could have sworn this guy was also in those old Iron Man animated episodes for the Marvel Action Hour.
Hasbro’s Marvel set will be available at the event, a collectible pack ($119.99) of action figures pitting heroic Spider-Man vs. the supervillains Sandman, Dreadknight, Abomination, Enchantress and Purple Man.
Also as pointed by the Fwoosh, the Spidey figure that comes along with the pack is actually the fan-favorite Pizza Spidey with a new headsculpt. Its easily worth the $119.99
