First Look at Idris Elba as Roland Deschain aka The Gunslinger for The Dark Tower
We’re happy that Idris Elba is finally getting meatier roles frequently such as his casting as the legendary Roland Deschain aka The Gunslinger for the live-action adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.
We have to credit JustJared for posting the first batch of photos featuring the British actor and thespian who also appeared in film like ‘Pacific Rim’ and the two ‘Thor’ movies.
Let’s analyze some of the stuff that we can notice about the dark hero with the sharpest aim…
First we have to look at the authenticity of the gun and the holster the dude is using. It’s true to what the book has described and although we don’t see anything generally outstanding about the Roland’s gun, we know that it’s a period weapon.
The actor looks bad-ass in his costume. It’s not what has been painted in my mind thanks to Marvel’s Dark Tower adaptation but its close. Personally, the only thing that’s missing for me would be the gloves and the hat.
Also spotted are photos of Matthew McConaughey as The Man in Black, the book series’ main villain.
