Pacific Rim 2 Still Happening for 2018

We originally told the story of Pacific Rim 2 getting shelved in Universal but now it looks like its getting back in track.

Legendary Pictures will be releasing the sequel to the hit Pacific Rim on February 16, 2018. The movie will be directed again with Guillermo del Toro and its rumored that the original cast would return like Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and even Charlie Day.

New addition to Pacific Rim 2 is Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor John Boyega.

Boyega is rumored to play the role of Idris Elba’s son who takes up his father’s heroic role as a Jaeger pilot.

We don’t have much details yet as to how the kaijus will return seeing that Hunnam’s Raleigh Beckket managed to destroy the breach in the first movie.
The movie will however feature more jaegers including the awesome Gipsy Danger. Del Torro was also quoted saying the sequel will introduce new kaijus of different sizes.
