Why are there so many Scammed Grab Food Riders These Days?

It sucks when you shell out money to buy something to earn a little extra; it doubly sucks if you drive spend time buying orders and then travelling to the destination only for the order to be cancelled. This seems to be the case since Grab Food’s popularity soared.

Apparently, its become a trend (that has not yet been fully addressed by the people behind Grab and Grab Food) for buyers to go and order something and cancelling them just after the rider gets the item. What’s sad is that these riders use their own money to buy the orders sometimes risking money for their family’s necessities just to earn additional income on top of the original money they had aka “Puhunan”.

Below are two examples of the plight of Grab Food riders…

And let me just put down the screenshots, in case their Facebook posts disappears

Sometimes, you feel the sadness in their Facebook posts. Good thing about this is that there will always be good samaritans willing to help them. They either end up buying the food and taking over the initial order. And take note, this isn’t just a thing with Grab, even those motorcycle based booking groups who take orders also have the same problem. There was even one particular post about being scammed by somebody who does the same modus to different riders at different parts of the day.

And yet nothing is being done to penalize the people who ordered or give incentives for the riders who got duped. Maybe its time to make this a credit-card only function so whatever happens, the riders gets paid.
