Swamp Thing Poster Recreates Classic Swamp Thing #28 Cover
The new Swamp Thing poster has been released by DC Comics and DC Universe and not only does it look creepy and beautiful, it also pays homage to another classic Swamp Thing issue.
The new TV series will follow the same tragic tale as the comic book and the previous live action iterations.
The poster itself was based on a classic cover to issue 28 of the original Swamp Thing run with Alan Moore.
We know that Swamp Thing here is actually carrying the corpse of his former self, Alec Holland who died somewhere in the swamps. He gets revived in a new body and that’s where the adventure begins.
That cover was done by Steve Bissett in 1984. And that was a stort where Swamp Thing finds the decomposed body of Alec Holland and then proceeded to look for a place to lay his remain.
Premiering Friday, May 31, on DC Universe, Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott, Henderson Wade and Kevin Durand. The series is executive produced by James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear and Len Wiseman.
