The Flash: Year One Announced!

Barry Allen never got a “Year One” story until now as DC Comics has announced that they will be revisiting the origins of the scarlet speedster with writer Joshua Williamson helming the story.

What remains to be seen is whether this will be a miniseries like the seminal Batman: Year One or a story arc taking place in the pages of the current volume of The Flash ala Green Lantern Secret Origin. What’s sure though is the story will be done in 2019.

Williamson recounts:

Barry Allen’s sense of hope and optimism is such an important thing

He adds that the story takes place after Barry’s mother, Nora Allen is murdered which shapes Allen into  “the hero we know today.”
