Rosie Perez Cast Renee Montoya for Birds of Prey
Actress Rosie Perez has been cast as Renee Montoya for the upcoming Birds of Prey movie.
The academy award winner who we have seen in “Do the Right Thing” is playing the tough as nails GCPD detective who later becomes the next person to take the mantle of the vigilante The Question.
Perez’s casting is the third casting for the Birds of Prey movie following Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Huntress and Black Canary respectively. The trio will be joining Margot Robbie who will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn once more. There are a few more characters that have yet to be cast and they are Barbara Gordon aka Oracle and Batgirl aka Cassandra Caine. Also, we still don’t have an actor who will play Black Mask yet.
The Birds of Prey is a team that consists of woman superheroes (and sometimes villains) created in the comics by Chuck Dixon and Jordan B. Gorfinkel. The roster has changed often, but Black Canary and Huntress are more often than not on the team. Recently, the comics lineup was those two, plus Batgirl.
Birds of Prey will come to theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
