Set Photo for HBO’s Watchmen Teases Death of Major Character

A new batch of set photos from HBO’s Watchmen series has surfaced and reveals a huge change from the original source material via the death of a major character.

So while we don’t have full context yet about this story and beat, I’ll just put up a spoiler alert.

Still there?

Ok so apparently Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias bites the bullet in this series which is being helmed by Damon Lindelof of Lost. Here’s the jarring piece of evidence that mentions the character’s death.

There’s also something related to Veidt’s creation which was the squid creature. It seems like the HBO Watchmen would be set sometime after the squid’s “attack” on New York.

In this world, they have come to prepare for the worst, by making shelters that will keep people alive in case another squid decides to drop by and kill more people.

And here’s another one of those weird looking squid signage…

We also see that the U.S. flag getting some changes, again taking on the alternate history of Alan Moore’s writing. I’m betting in this series, its still Richard Nixon whose POTUS.

Prior to this we also had a look at Don Johnson’s character who was dressed for a special occasions. What was he attending?

Anyway, Ozymandias is still alive and well in the DC Comics maxiseries Doomsday Clock written by Geoff Johns with art by Gary Frank.
