PWR Presents: PATH OF GOLD 2018

All paths lead to Makati City as PWR presents the spectacle that is the annual 20-Man Path of Gold Match. This is where the path to Wrevolution X begins, where one must outlast 19 others to secure a guaranteed title shot at the biggest show in Philippine wrestling. But that’s not all, every championship in PWR will be on the line! Here’s what you can expect on March 11th, 2PM, at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati.

PATH OF GOLD 2018

Considered to be one of the most important contests in the PWR calendar, the Path of Gold Match consists of 20 wrestlers in one ring each with the single goal of outlasting everyone else for a guaranteed title shot to any championship of his or her choosing at Wrevolution X 2018. Two competitors start off in the ring, and every 2 minutes a new one enters the mix. Eliminations are done via pinfall or submission until a single competitor is left standing.

The previous winner of the Path of Gold match was Chris Panzer who then went out and took John Sebastian’s PWR Championship at the biggest show in Philippine wrestling. This year, a new path will once again be written for one deserving contender.

Here are some of the contestants booked to enter the melee: Jake De Leon, Dax Xaviera, SANDATA, Ken Warren, Logan Ollores, Yohann Ollores, Kh3ndrick, Mh4rckie, Revo Ranger, Martivo, Robynn, Evan Carleaux, Trian Dela Torre, Peter Versoza, and Miguel Rosales.

PWR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Ralph Imabayashi (c) vs. Chris Panzer

Ralph Imabayashi started 2018 with a bang as he won for the second time the title of Kampeon ng Pilipinas when he clinched from Chris Panzer the coveted Philippine Wrestling Revolution Championship. After that title match main event at the start of the year, Panzer suffered a back injury that will supposedly sit him out for 2 months — which means he is still not clear to wrestle his rematch with Imabayashi come March 11th. This gave the new PWR Champion an idea: should Panzer refuse to wrestle at the next show, he forfeits his rematch clause. This leaves the Leader of the Panzer Army no choice but to fight through the pain.

PHILIPPINE HYBRID X CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Mike Madrigal (c) vs. ???

Mike Madrigal has proven time and time again that he is the best in what he does in the ring. After winning the Philippine Hybrid X Championship 6 months ago in the first-ever PHXcellence Tournament, he has remained unbeaten for the title. Which leads us to the question: is there anyone worthy left in PWR to become contender for the PHX Title? Former General Manager Mr. Sy has returned to PWR to answer this question. Sy has revealed that he in fact has a worthy opponent for Mike Madrigal come PWR Path of Gold 2018… who that is, we’ll all just have to find out together.

PWR TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 3-WAY TITLE MATCH: The Network (c) vs. Zayden Trudeau & BOLT vs. John Sebastian & Crystal

James “Idol” Martinez and Alexander Belmonte III have been at the top of the PWR Tag Team pyramid for quite some time now. And rising from the ranks come the winners of the 2018 Tag Team Tournament and #1 contenders for the titles: Zayden Trudeau & Bolt. The two teams have been set for a title match at PWR Path of Gold 2018… but not if the Owner, GM, and Lord of PWR has anything to say about it. In his words, John Sebastian has an obligation to clean up the PWR Tag Team Division and make the PWR Tag Team Titles great again. And so he has placed himself into the match with his Queen and partner, Crystal.

ALL OUT WAR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Vlad Sinnsyk (c) vs. The Apocalypse

These two monsters have had a long history fighting each other for the prized All Out War Championship. To finally settle the score, Vlad Sinnsyk and The Apocalypse seek to end it all in a Last Man Standing ALL OUT WAR Championship Match. There will be no disqualifications and no holds barred. The only way to win is by being the last competitor standing after the referee’s 10-count.

BRING YOUR OWN WEAPONS: The Revo-nation is encouraged to bring their own weapons for the two competitors to use on each other. But please, DO NOT bring guns, knives, or any deadly weapons.

GRUDGE MATCH: Dax Xaviera vs. Jake De Leon

Nevermind that these men will still be competing in the Path of Gold main event. This fight between them has become far too personal to let slip another show. Jake De Leon has been going full steam in OPLAN: Sagip Wrestling and was one pin away from beating SANDATA. Thanks to Dax Xaviera’s distraction tactics, SANDATA was able to hit De Leon with a devastating knee to the face to take the win. The vengeful De Leon vows to rip Xaviera’s arm off from its sockets at PWR Path of Gold 2018.
