Mr. Oz Revealed as [SPOILER] – Action Comics # 987

The time has come for DC Comics to finally reveal who Mr. Oz is and while it sucks big time, its now who we think it is. Spoilers taken from Action Comics # 987 by the way.

Action Comics # 987 was written by Dan Jurgens with art by Vic Bogdanovic, inks by Jonathan Glapion.

In this issue, Superman gets bombarded by several conflicts both stateside and abroad. He responds to a nearby workplace violence where a man is about to shoot immigrants because they cost him his job.

He flies off to try and stop an oil tanker from crashing and polluting the sea with oil, fails to stop poachers from killing a rhino for it’s horn. Superman also fails to stop rebels from what appears to be an African country, from taking vaccines. The same vaccines he personally delivered earlier in Action Comics # 987.

So when the violence continues and there’s nobody left alive to pay for these transgressions, Mr. Oz finally shows up.

And ofcourse, he’s still prattling on about how humanity doesn’t deserve Superman or his family. He easily transports both himself and Superman to the Fortress of Solitude and they continue their talk.

As Mr. Oz removes his hood, we finally get a glimpse of who this mysterious person is and why he was so deeply invested in the comings-and-goings of Superman.

Mr. Oz is Jor-El!!!

Next issue, Action Comics # 988 will answer the question “How did Mr. Oz/ Jor-El survive the explosion of Krypton?”.
