Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo Del Toro is back with a very interesting movie about Abe Sapien a gillman and a human set in the Cold War.

The film stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer and Doug Jones as “The Asset”.

I love the fact that its a period piece and that it utilizes great makeup and prosthetic work only a Guillermo Del Toro movie can deliver. I love the editing they did for this trailer, the mystery it sets up, the way the dialogues work well together with the visuals and I love how us viewers get only bits and pieces of the “Asset”, who also happens to be the same actor who played BPRD’s resident empath and fish guy, Abe Sapien.

Lastly, I have to really fanboy over the cover which was done by James Jean (of Fables fame). Here’s the full look for The Shape of Water poster.
