ASUS Philippines Launches the ZenFone AR (ZS571KL)

ASUS Philippines is asking their brand-conscious Filipino supporters to #GoBeyondReality with the unveiling of the new Zenfone AR (Augmented Reality).

The Zenfone AR is tagged as the World’s first Tango enabled and Google Daydream-ready smartphone; which is a mouthful to say and yet, sounds and reads like a Futurist’s wetdream.

AR or Augmented Reality is what makes this phone different from all the other Zenfones out in the market today. This 5.7 phone boasts of the AR technology called TANGO. It’s basically a set of sensors and computer vision software that helps the smartphone understand the concept of space and motion the way we human beings do. This gives Asus’ new phone depth perception and motion tracking which in turn makes it easier to use Augmented Reality.

Another new technology added into the Zenfone AR is their TriCam system. That’s right, three rear cameras. “Bulok” is the operating word for the current two-lens camera features they have with smartphones in the market. The ZS571KL trumps that with three. Rear camera 1 has 23MP, rear camera 2 is used for motion tracking and the third is for depth sensing.

The two extra cameras help give the Zenfone AR a better understanding of the area and object in front of it so it makes for better output for the AR. Then add in that delicious 23 megapixel “main” camera and you pretty much have a playground for all the future-heavy technology coming our way soon.

Speaking of #GoBeyondReality, Asus also loaded in some great “really useful real world apps” for the AR.
