Shuri (Black Panther)

Shuri and T’Challa

Shuri is the princess of Wakanda and is the younger sister of current Black Panther, T’Challa. Her first appearance as Shuri happened in Black Panther # 2 (2005) where she played supporting character for a number of issues. Later after the Cabal’s attack on T’Challa which left him severely injured, Shuri took the mantle from her brother.

Even after her brother’s return to the role as the official Black Panther, Shuri still made several comic book appearances still wearing her Black Panther costume. She hasn’t appeared in the current Marvel Universe post-Secret Wars.

Black Panther will be directed by Ryan Coogler. It stars Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis. The film opens February 16, 2018.
