Will Joe Manganiello Still be Deathstroke in ‘The Batman’?
Biggest question that we have now that Matt Reeves has officially taken over the role of director for WB’s The Batman from former director Ben Affleck is whether or not they’d still retain Deathstroke.
Nobody seems to know that at the moment. Not Reeves, not Affleck, not anybody working for the other DCEU projects and not even the actor himself. That’s right, Joe Manganiello’s not even sure if they’ll be sticking to the plan of using Deathstroke the Terminator as the main villain for the untitled Batman project.
Here’s what he had to say when asked about the subject during a press junket for the new ‘Smurfs’ movie.
If they skip getting him as Deathstroke, I would be pissed and so are thousands of fans who rallied behind the casting. The dude was overly enthused with the casting “tease” Affleck did awhile back when he was still running the production. Manganiello even studied hard for the character of Slade Wilson and had even picked out a rather interesting fan art of himself in Deathstroke garb during Geoff Johns’ birthday.
Still its too early to see this how this will all pan out and we’re really hoping that they retain not only him as the villain but also whatever was written for him in the script.
