5 Things to Love About the New Wonder Woman Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the third (or was it second) trailer for Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

We’ve all seen the new Wonder Woman trailer and this cut makes it look extremely appealing even for the non-comicbook movie watching crowd; thus making it more promising. Anyway, I’m dissecting the trailer and pick out the five things to love about this new trailer.

If you haven’t seen the trailer, I’m posting it below:

Baby Wonder Woman

We’ve seen Wonder Woman in various stages of her adult life but we’ve never seen her as a young girl. The other trailers didn’t bother adding that so it makes us not really connect with the viewers. Now we get to see her as a young girl and tracking back her aspirations to become the Amazon representative to “man’s world”. Oh and we get to see more of that godkilling sword.

‘Em Bracelets

We know that those bracelets were powerful enough to deflect bullets but up until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice we never thought it could actually generate powerful shockwaves when struck together. How she discovers that particular use gets shown in the movie and in this cut of the trailer. Something that makes the story more appealing and cements this as an origin story.

The Toughest Chick in the DCEU

It’s a combination of the lines Queen Hippolyta says that she needs to be trained five times as hard as any amazon and then seeing Diana actually going through those trainings plus the end result makes the trailer more action packed than ever before. Did I mention they’ve got new Paradise Island scenes for this one? Yuh.

Beefcake

Its not just Gal Gadot that’s eye candy here in “Wonder Woman” as we get to see Chris Pine show off his physique. The dude who also happens to be the current movie version of James T. Kirk from Star Trek looks ripped in that scene where he’s talking to Diana inside what appears to be a cave.

Godkiller

WONDER WOMAN (2017)
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

We’ve had glimpses of that mythical sword but now we’re getting a closer look at it. Sorry to make the comparison but that scene reminds me of that scene from “Thor” where young Thor and Loki examine the enchanted uru hammer Mjolnir closely and then Loki talks about being worthy and all that.

That being said, the sword alone looks pretty. The intricacy on the design is something to write home about. So as early as now, massive props to the film’s props department. I’m actually curious now if this is the same sword Deathstroke the Terminator was running around the DCU with before the events of DC Rebirth. Maybe yes, maybe no. Who knows right.

About Wonder Woman

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.

Patty Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns & Patty Jenkins, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.

The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Rebecca Roven, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, Wonder Woman. The film will be distributed in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
