5 Things Added in for the PS4 Update 4.50

The Playstation 4 is getting some much needed updates via the Playstation 4‘s 4.50 update and its a lot more promising than the past update.

It might be a good idea to look for a fast internet source because these new updates are rolling out sooner than you expect. Here are 5 things added into the Playstation 4.50 update.

  1. External HDD Support

While you can upgrade the HDD that acts as storage for your Playstation 4, the sheer number of games for the PS4 will eventually reach you and you’ll need more storage space. The Playstation 4.50 update will unlock the ability to store content from your Playstation into your External hard drive.

The best thing about this is that it works with current technology, so as long as you have a USB 3.0 HDD and you’re pretty much covered. It won’t be a picky thing too as the new updates lets PS4 owners use external drives that has 8TB storage.

This is compatible with HDDs up to 8TB in size. You can download and install applications directly to your extra storage, and the saved contents are easily manageable through the settings menu.

2. Hard Drives Work as an Extension

The new update for the Playstation 4 or PS 4.50 will also allow users to save applications on the external HDD. Users can then use the same apps stored on the external by using the “Content Launcher” located at the Home Screen. Even better you can keep track of the apps you’ve used because it features all applications that have been used recently. So no need to fumble and scroll around because its there.

3. Quick Menu Refresh

The previous system update drastically changed the PS4’s Quick Menu feature (you know, that feature that appears when you hold the PS button on your DualShock 4 for a long time). Sony has made even more changes for the Quick Menu.

Now players will have a smoother UI with the Quick Menu because its been redesigned to take up less space on the screen. They’ve also modified the Party features for various games via Online Friends. This’ll make creation of new parties a cinch.

4. Custom Wallpapers

The latest system update will now let you set your favorite screenshot from any game and use it as the background image for your PS4’s home screen. It’s also been designed so when you pick out your screenshot or image in general, it uses drop-shadow effects on text making it easier for your to see the icons and texts on apps and commands.

5. Simpler Notification Tabs

While I personally don’t have a problem with the notification list on the PS4’s Home Menu, there are still people who think its too cluttered. The solution, update the look with the Playstation 4 4.50 system update. Say goodbye to the old look because it’ll now have a more ‘streamlined’ feel to it.

So there you have it. The 5 things Sony has added in the PS4 Update 4.50. I’m sure there are still small changes within this coming system update but the five mentioned above are what we feel are big ‘game changers’ for the console.
