Gerry’s Gears Up to Celebrate their 20th Anniversary

20 is a big number and any establishment or company that reaches that year should give themselves a pat on the back for a job excellently done. This is the case of Gerry’s (formerly Gerry’s Restaurant and Bar) who is now gearing up to celebrate their anniversary on February 2017.

The first Gerry’s outlet in Quezon City

A media launch was recently held featuring the CSB Lady Blazers and representatives from the Philippine Volcanoes. Both teams have shown their support and love for Gerry’either because of the good food, the quality of service or both.

It was also there that Gerry’s introduced new and exciting dishes including Salt & Pepper Squid, Chicharon Liempo, Kalderetang Kambing and Spanish Style Bangus. Desserts were also showcased such as Sweet Suman, Crunchy Camote Chips, Turon con Yema and Sweet Potato Ala Mode. All these dishes were winning entries from the various resident chefs who competed in an internal cook-off.

Friends from the media and online community also learned more about the fascinating growth of Gerry’s from the traditional “tambayan” to the now family-friendly restaurant we know and love.

Fantastic Food and Gerry’s Has Them

It’s now a generational thing with Gerry’s now that they are hitting their 20th year. The customers who grew up savoring the dishes have all but grown up and are now sharing the same appeal with their kids.

Over the years Gerry’s, which had its humble beginnings in Tomas Morato in Quezon City, has developed and expanded their menu to cater to a wide range of customers and that’s all thanks to resident chefs who whip up their own brand of magic in the kitchen.

Maintaining consistency is another thing that Gerry’s holds highly which is why quality assurance officers regularly visit all the branches to check if the food served in the establishment passes the Gerry’s standard.

Gerry’s hard work has paid off with numerous recognitions for its excellent dishes, among them: Spot.ph – Best Bangus Sisig Award for 2012, the Choice – People’s Favorite Restaurant for Office Party Award for 2015 and People’s Favorite Sisig Award from 2015 and 2016.

No Customer Left Behind

Gerry’s has embranced a more casual, family-oriented ‘feel’ as opposed to its former ‘tambayan’ vibe. From 80’s music, more hip and current hits not only from pop artists but also from Youtube sensations could be heard and seen from the flat TVs and audio system, which are decked all over the place.

More to Come

Moving towards its 20th year, Gerry’s currently has an 80-branch network in the Philippines. It’s also set to open five additional branches for the first quarter of 2017 alone including branches in SM San Pablo, SM Iloilo, Festival Mall in Alabang and Mactan, Cebu.

That’s definitely mor branches for K-Pop star Sandara Park to visit!

And for the kababayans abroad there are currently branches open to serve namely Singapore, Qatar and the US. Another Gerry’s branch in Hawaii is set to open next year.

Payback Time

For years now, Gerry’s has been a staunch supporter of athletes including teams like the UST Growling Tigers, the UP Fighting Maroons, Perpetual Help College and the Arellano University in NCAA. Today Gerry’s is working together with the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers by supplying their meals overseen by a nutritionist.
