Elodie Yung’s Elektra Added to Netflix’s Defenders

Elodie Yung aka Elektra has been added to the list of characters set to appear in Netflix’s Defenders.

Take note too, that Elektra won’t be here as a guest but rather as a full time castmember joining core characters Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Kristen Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to form the street-level superteam.

Spoilers if you haven’t seen Daredevil Season 2 or have not yet binge-watching that extraordinary series…

Last we saw Elektra, her body was in the hands of… uh… The Hand; the same group that pestered Matt Murdock for two seasons of the show already. The ninja group’s plan was simply to use Elektra as their weapon aka “Black Sky”. Like how most of the Marvel-Netflix shows are structured, particularly Luke Cage, the heroes graduate from a mid-boss to a final boss. Indicating that The Hand and Elektra would only serve as Netflix’s Defenders’ mid-boss.

Oh and the big bad for the series? None other than Sigourney Weaver, who has yet to reveal her character. That of course will change as the series draws near it’s release date.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist. The four street-level heroes will be forced to join forces as the Defenders in order to protect New York City, from Hell’s Kitchen to Harlem, from a threat none of them are powerful enough to face alone.

The Defenders is one of three Marvel Netflix series set to premiere in 2017. Iron Fist will make it’s debut, as will Daredevil Season 2 spinoff series The Punisher. No confirmation yet on whether Frank Castle will be involved inThe Defenders.
