LOGAN director Explains All the Scars in Wolverine’s Body

Logan director James Mangold shares another photo for the third Wolverine movie plus some explanation why Logan has scars all over his body.

The image shared on Twitter features a heavily scarred Hugh Jackman all the while still being all ripped.

The new movie has released a trailer which was pretty trippy and had a cover of the song “Hurt” by Johnny Cash himself which was really perfect for the tone of the movie which borrows heavily from the comic book story “Old Man Logan” by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

But more than Jackman’s ripped physique did you notice the insane amount of scars the guy has in this picture? Its like he’s been through the blender and managed to make it out barely alive.

That’s one of the things that will make LOGAN such an interesting story. It seems, dear readers, that Logan has a dumbed down version of his healing factor. Even Mangold confirms it…

We imagined that it may have when he was younger, but with age, he’s getting older and ailing

He adds:

Perhaps his healing factor no longer produces baby-soft skin. So we imagined he heals quickly, still, but it leaves a scar. The simple idea was that his body would start to get a little more ravaged with a kind of tattooing of past battles, lacerations that remain of previous conflicts.

Directed by James Mangold, written by Michael Green, Scott Frank, James Mangold and David James Kelly, and starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Dafne Keen and Stephen Merchant, “Logan” arrives in theaters on March 3, 2017.
