Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau makes his triumphant appearance in a Marvel comicbook and even manages to punch the lights out of Tony Stark in issue 5 of Civil War II Choosing Sides.

The progressive Canadian prime minister’s appearance begins as early as page 3 or 4 of the book where he meets with members of the Canadian super team Alpha Flight namely Snowbird, Sasquatch and Puck; all of which are now working closely with the Ultimates team of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.

You see these three heroes earlier in the story apprehended former members of the villain stable known as the “Wrecking Crew” because of the visions that the Inhuman Ullysses saw involving multiple casualties and huge property damage.

After dismissing the trio, we later see Trudeau doing a bit of shadow boxing by his lonesome.

To be honest, the next few pages felt like it had BL (boy love) undertones between Trudeau and Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

Justin Trudeau and Tony Stark talk about the implications of using the visions of an unskilled and untested Inhuman to change the way things happen. To change the future.

The truly “imba” moment here lies when Stark, a man who have gone toe-to-toe against a skilled fighter like Captain America, gets decked by the Canadian Prime Minister. I shake my head at disbelief.

Stark’s gone through training to protect himself if need be, so it could be that the writing implies that he’s not himself during the sparring match with Trudeau which is why he gets floored quickly. If that would be the case, then I’ll take it.

The prime minister does make sense, Stark is fighting with the wrong opponents a lot of times.

This is an anthology book and there are two other stories here, one involving former friends Colleen Wing and Misty Knight and the other featuring Nick Fury Jr., both are interesting character driven stories with some insane action sequences.

This part of Civil War II Choosing Sides # 5 however was written by Chip Zdarksky with art by Ramon Perez
