Brie Larson Officially Cast as Captain Marvel

Straight from the SDCC 2016, it has been confirmed that Brie Larson will be playing the role of Captain Marvel for the MCU.

There’s been buzz already that Marvel has been in talks with Larson for quite some but no official announcement. Until today.

Marvel made the announcement during their Hall H appearance for Comic Con. The Marvel Cinematic Universe grows a bit bigger with this news.

Of course, Larson won’t just be making appearances here and there. She will star in her own movie which will be under the MCU phase 3 films.

Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers, a military gal who got her powers from the alien race known as the Kree. She has the ability to channel energy and have super strength. She can also fly if you’re wondering.

More importantly Captain Marvel has military tactics ingrained in her making her a very adept leader.

During her tenure as a member of the Avengers in the comic books, she has shown her usefulness both as an adviser to Captain America and the other Avengers chairmen through the years. Currently she is the leader of the superteam known as The Ultimates.

She also has ties to X-Men as she has worked with the merry mutants during their various space adventures.
Relationship wise, she has been linked to a number of teammates but her most recent beau WAS War Machine aka Jim Rhodes.

But now he’s dead thanks to the events of Civil War II.

We’ll do a more in-depth look at Carol Danvers and Captain Marvel in the weeks to come.

Meanwhile, lets all rejoice that a hottie like Brie Larson is with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
