First Unofficial Set Pics for Fullmetal Alchemist Live Action Movie

ANN shares an interesting look at the set of the upcoming live action adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist.

The new movie is currently shooting on location in Italy which apparently is the perfect location for the film’s setting.

Director Fumihiko Sori has stated that production will continue abroad until August 2016. He has also promised that the film would be faithful to the source material.

I ask however, which source? There are two versios of Fullmetal Alchemist out there. One is FMA which had the non-canon story and another FMA, dubbed Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

I want to create a style that follows the original manga as much as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe. However, it’s a style that doesn’t represent a specific race or country

Meanwhile on the subject of ethinicity Sori says:

There will never be a scene in which a character says something that would identify him/her as Japanese.
