Wishing Darwyn Cooke Well as he Fights ‘Aggressive’ Cancer *UPDATED*
UPDATE: Reports are coming in that Darwyn has just passed away. Our sincere condolences to his wife and family.
ORIGINAL STORY: Legendary DC Comics artist Darwyn Cooke needs our well-wishes and supports as its been reported that he is currently battling an ‘aggressive’ form of cancer.
The New Frontier artist has revealed on his blog that he is currently under palliative care after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer. His wife Marsha had this to say:
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce Darwyn is now receiving palliative care following a bout with aggressive cancer. His brother Dennis and I, along with our families appreciate the outpouring of support we have received. We ask for privacy as we go through this very difficult time. I loved Cooke’s work on New Frontier and he was such a talented artist that DC even gave him the spotlight with a December variant cover series which includes the cover to the New 52 Justice League as seen above.
