Bioman’s Pink 5 is Still a Hottie and More Photos from TokuSpirits 2016

Aside from BvS opening last March 26 aka Black Saturday, there was another important geek event that happened up north in the form of TOKUSPIRITS 2016.

First off, what is TokuSpirits?

The event’s page describes the event as follows:

TokuSpirits is the brand name for a series of events that are aligned with the “Tokusatsu (特撮)” fandom spanning a japanese genre of film and television drama featuring superheroes, special effects, animé and manga.

What we here at #TeamFanboy tip our hats too with regards to their end goal.

Our mission is to raise enough funds used in providing medical assistance to our beneficiary (Kids Cancer Vibe), an organization for kids afflicted with cancer, while uniting like-minded enthusiasts that resonate and enjoy the blanket fandom of “Tokusatsu (特撮)”.

So for their first spin in the events circle, they wanted to make a huge bang so they bring in Ryousuke Kaizu, the actor who plays Takeru / Michael Joe / Red Mask in Hikari Sentai Maskman…

Holy crap, please allow me to write this down in Filipino before reverting to English.

So wow, holy shit ang ganda parin ni Pink Five after all these years!

For reference here’s a photo from her Bioman days + the Bioman opening.

According to FNBYSEO contributor and good friend Vince Corpuz of Vince Corpuz Photography, the event had a good crowd despite it being a holiday still. It was pretty obvious that everybody wanted to get a glimpse of their childhood heroes and idols. I mean, c’mon, this is Red Mask we’re talking about. If I got the chance too, I would probably flip out too.
TokuSpirits had a lot of things lined up for guests and fans but the main highlight would be the short solo performance by each actor / actress.

The guys and dear gal was game in their performance. In fact they didn’t just limit themselves to singing the opening and closing songs for their respective super sentai series, they also did a few numbers that Filipino attendees can easily relate to.

I definitely suggest you visit Jefusion to see all their performances.

Most parts though they were signing and connecting to their fans. And the best part, they were really having a blast.

I won’t lie, I would love that Red Mask helmet. It’ll go perfectly with my ever-growing super sentai shrine.

Putting a gallery below to see more of our beloved Super Sentai heroes and heroine with a hope that there’ll be another next year, and hopefully it’ll be somewhere nearer.

Special thanks once again to Mr. Vince Corpuz, who, out of love for Super Sentai, travelled up north to join this event. Like his FB page HERE
