Netflix to Produce A New Voltron Series

Leave it to Netflix to come up with superior quality projects such as a new Voltron series coming soon.

We even have a first look at the new design for the mech. 

The serialized story will focus on five teenagers named Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Shiro. The heroes must defend Arus from King Zarkon’s evil alien force. Unlike most of the characters from the original series, the main characters will have backstories and a purpose for going on the mission.

Whats more interesting is their take on the Voltron character Princess Allura.

The producers state:

certainly not fainting at every little thing that overwhelms her.

Another interesting thing about this new Voltron series is the fact thag they’ll be foing for a Game of Thrones-esque epic with humor on the side. They also wanted to try out a serious, military tone. Not the most promising but I want to see how this works.

Lauren Montgomery adds:

Not everything is solved by Voltron alone. Sometimes they need to beat something just as the lions. Sometimes they just do it as themselves fighting as men.

We’re expected to see a trailer for this month’s WonderCon and hopefully it gets streamed online.
